Material Planner
If you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and want your planning decisions to directly impact production success and customer delivery, this role is for you. As a Material Planner, you’ll sit at the center of operations—driving material readiness, enabling production flow, and ensuring the right parts are in the right place at the right time.
You’ll collaborate across Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, and Program Management to turn demand into execution. Every decision you make helps us Deploy Faster, Operate with Confidence, and Design with Purpose—for our customers, our teams, and our mission.
What You’ll Do
- Own material readiness by maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and disciplined revision control within Deltek Costpoint.
- Drive production execution by creating and releasing sales orders, manufacturing orders, and purchase requisitions/purchase orders.
- Balance supply and demand by allocating raw materials and finished goods to meet production priorities and delivery commitments.
- Anticipate issues before they happen by monitoring inventory levels and mitigating shortages, excess inventory, and schedule risk.
- Keep production moving by supporting firm planned, released, and in-process manufacturing orders.
- Solve real problems by identifying material constraints, supplier risks, and scheduling conflicts—and leading timely resolution.
- Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, and Program Managers to align plans with demand and execution.
- Build and continuously improve production and supply chain schedules that enable on-time delivery and operational efficiency.
- Leverage Deltek Costpoint and MRP tools to ensure data accuracy, planning discipline, and confident decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in material planning, production planning, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Deltek Costpoint preferred).
- Proven ability to manage BOMs, revision control, and master production planning concepts.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, lead times, and inventory control.
- A proactive, analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
- Clear communicator and collaborative partner across teams.
- Knowledge of FAR requirements as they relate to supplier management.
- Advanced Excel or data analysis skills.
- Ability to qualify for and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
