Job Description

The Quality Control Lab Technician will ensure that all production batches and finished products meet quality control standards by conducting tests in accordance with internal SOPs and FDA/GMP requirements. This role involves performing routine quality control activities, recording observations and measurements, and reporting results. Additionally, the technician is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining glassware and equipment, as well as assisting with the receipt and inspection of raw materials.

Responsibilities

• Test and adjust production batches as required by formula and SOP, and communicate and record adjustments.

• Test finished products, stability, and validation samples using required methods.

• Perform instrumental analyses using HPLC, GC, or TOC as needed.

• Complete all paperwork, record keeping, and posting associated with approving and releasing batches.

• Evaluate data for trends and author standard operating procedures and microbiological test methods.

• Approve tankers for loading and unloading, record information and testing results.

• Test products based on customer complaints or returns and retest returned goods for release or rejection.

• Store samples and assist in maintaining retained samples.

• Maintain cleanliness and stock QC area and lab with materials.

• Assist in environmental monitoring, including obtaining samples and conducting testing for chemical or micro evaluation.

• Operate computer programs to prepare, distribute, and maintain forms, charts, logs, graphs, and other written tools.

• Assist in the company's compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices.

• Communicate to other shifts regarding special microbiological testing and pertinent issues.

• Other duties as assigned may include special analytical projects and validations.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in chemistry and laboratory techniques.

• Experience with gas chromatography and wet chemistry.

• Skill in titration, inspection, biology, and biochemistry.

• Competence in data entry and data analysis.

• Ability to perform pH testing and work in a wet laboratory environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry or related science field.

• Working knowledge of testing apparatus such as HPLC and GC.

• Knowledge of basic lab equipment in a manufacturing setting.

Work Environment

This position operates on a 3rd shift schedule, from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM, Sunday through Friday morning, with occasional Saturday shifts based on production needs. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sharonville, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
