Litigation Paralegal

Position Summary
This position is dedicated primarily to federal ADA litigation. The Litigation Paralegal will assist attorneys in all phases of ADA and civil rights cases, including case investigation, pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of federal court procedures, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage complex accessibility and discrimination cases with discretion and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
· Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and other filings in federal ADA litigation matters.
· Conduct legal and factual research concerning ADA Titles II and III, Section 504, and applicable federal accessibility standards.
· Review, organize, and summarize medical records, expert reports, and compliance documents relevant to ADA claims.
· Manage electronic filing (CM/ECF) in federal district courts and maintain docketing accuracy for all active cases.
· Assist with case organization, exhibits, and evidence management in accessibility and discrimination cases.
· Coordinate depositions, mediations, and court appearances in federal and state jurisdictions.
· Communicate professionally with clients, experts, government agencies, and opposing counsel.
· Maintain detailed case files and support attorneys in trial preparation and settlement negotiations.
· Track and monitor all deadlines, ensuring compliance with federal and local procedural rules.
Qualifications
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or related field (or Paralegal Certificate).
· Minimum of 2–3 years of federal litigation experience, preferably involving ADA or civil rights cases.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice software (e.g., Smokeball, Clio, or similar).
· Exceptional legal writing, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
· Strong understanding of federal court procedure, accessibility compliance, and discovery processes.
· Knowledge of Ohio civil procedure and local court filing requirements preferred.
Preferred Skills
· Experience with medical record review and deposition preparation.
· Familiarity with e-filing in federal courts and in Summit, Portage, and Franklin County courts.
· Ability to draft correspondence and pleadings independently for attorney review.
· Proficiency in discovery management, trial preparation, and exhibit organization.
· Prior experience in ADA accessibility enforcement, disability rights, or public accommodation cases.
