PCU Nursing Job Details

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210
• Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (Lower Acuity Cardiac)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Nursing Shifts: 3x12-hour rotating shifts per week (Day: 07:00–19:30 / Night: 19:00–07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940 - $1990
• Patient Ratio: 1:3–4
• Unit: 7 Ross Card Med Step Down (30 beds)
• Float Requirement: May float to similar or lower acuity units within the organization

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
• BCLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• EPIC charting experience required
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Ability to provide two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a lower acuity cardiac PCU
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Utilize advanced clinical skills in IV starts, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• Float to other units of similar or lower acuity as needed
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Participate in rotating holidays and some weekend shifts
