Purchasing Coordinator

What You'll Do:This position is responsible for purchasing all raw materials, production supplies, machine and maintenance parts for the Ada Facility. This position works closely with all departments. This position identifies areas for cost reductions and savings, ensures proper inventory levels, and conducts supplier visits as needed. Additional responsibilities will include vendor price negotiating, MSDS compliance, securing secondary suppliers, implementation of cycle count program and Lean/Kanban system and material organization on plant floor.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :
- C reate, review, and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials, supplies, and services.
- Monitor open orders, follow up on past-due items, and resolve delivery or quantity discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing, lead times, and supplier information in ERP systems.
- Work closely with Production, Warehouse, Engineering, and Finance teams to support material planning needs.
- Assist with inventory management activities, including cycle counts and reconciliation.
- Support sourcing initiatives, including requesting quotes and assisting with supplier evaluations.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and waste reduction.
- Ensure purchased materials meet quality, compliance, and specification requirements.
- Assist with resolving invoice discrepancies and supporting Accounts Payable as needed.
- Maintain documentation related to purchasing activities, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Assist with other purchasing, supply chain activities and other duties as assigned.
- Travel as needed for supplier relations, up to 10%
Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Managment, or related field, or equivalent experience will be required for this position. Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain support (manufacturing environment preferred). Experience working with SAP, Ariba systems and purchasing modules and basic understanding of inventory management and supply chain principles.

- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow up to resolution
- Proficient in SAP, Ariba, Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Professional attitude with strong time-management skills
