Job Description

CEAS is seeking a part-time (20 hr/week) student worker to assist in day-to-day operations during the summer semester. Applicant must possess strong organizational skills and demonstrate the ability to follow detailed/complex instructions. Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed.

This job requires frequent standing, walking, stooping, and kneeling. You may be required to lift boxes and equipment weighing 25-50 lbs.

Daily responsibilities will include assisting the Health and Safety Director of CEAS with laboratory cleanups, laboratory setups, decontamination of laboratory equipment, and preparing chemicals for hazardous waste pickup. You may have to assist with general housekeeping duties as needed. Other tasks designated as need arises.

Minimum Qualifications

Active University of Cincinnati student. Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hours for undergraduate and 5 credit hours for graduate students), with the exception of summer semester. Must be 18 years of age or older. Experience handling chemicals and or hazardous waste is needed.

Ideal Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Excel and success in upper-level chemistry classes.

Hourly Pay Rate: $12
