Shipping & Receiving Associate

Location: Mentor, OH
Pay Rate : $25 – $28 per hour
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Overtime on weekends as needed
Must be open to all shifts due to possible shift changes

• Prepare outbound shipments in compliance with customer specifications, contracts, and aerospace & defense regulations (AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, and customer flow-down requirements).
• Verify part numbers, revisions, quantities, serial/lot numbers, and certifications prior to shipment.
• Generate and review packing slips, Certificates of Conformance (CoC), and shipping documentation.
• Coordinate carrier pickups and freight scheduling to meet customer delivery commitments.
• Ensure proper packaging, labeling, preservation, and FOD prevention for precision machined components.

• Receive incoming castings, tooling, and supplies.
• Verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and certifications.
• Identify and segregate nonconforming or suspect material.
• Perform accurate ERP receiving transactions and route materials appropriately.
• Maintain lot, serial, revision, and location traceability.
• Support cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Maintain ITAR-controlled material handling and access compliance.

• Participate in ERP implementation activities including data validation, testing, and go-live support.
• Execute ERP transactions accurately (receipts, moves, issues, shipments).
• Validate master data including part numbers, revisions, UOM, and locations.
• Assist with process mapping and gap analysis between legacy and ERP workflows.
• Identify and escalate system issues or data discrepancies.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and training efforts.
• Assist with post-implementation audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Communicate effectively with Quality, Production, Purchasing, Planning, and IT teams.
• Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
• Adhere to EHS, 5S, and data integrity standards.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of shipping & receiving experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of AS9100, ITAR, and traceability requirements.
• Hands-on ERP/MRP system experience (inventory, shipping, receiving modules).
• Ability to read part numbers, revisions, and technical documentation.
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening.
