About The Role

Reporting to VP, Head of Legal, North America, this role is part of our commercial legal team. We work collaboratively with stakeholders from all functional areas in the business, primarily in the drafting and negotiation of agreements and the provision of legal advice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and negotiate legal contracts
• Provide legal advice on a variety of matters, including technology agreements, data security, intellectual property, licensing, litigation, procurement and artificial intelligence
• Proactively manage risk through training and coaching of business partners on legal and compliance matters
• Succinctly and effectively communicate legal issues to internal clients
• Effectively integrate legal and business knowledge to develop practical business solutions
• Support the successful execution of LexisNexis' goals and strategies

Qualifications

• JD and licensed to practice law in either the United States or Canada
• 2-5 years' experience in-house or law firm environment
• Proven experience in technology matters
• Enthusiasm for implementing automation and legal technology into your practice
• Ability to work independently in a fact-paced business environment
• Strong ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships across the business

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $104,900 - $174,700. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.

If performed in Illinois, the base pay range is $110,100 - $183,500.If performed in Chicago, IL, the base pay range is $115,400 - $192,200.If performed in Ohio, the base pay range is $99,700 - $166,000.

This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.

Base Pay Range in Ontario: $114,400 - $164,400 (CAD).
