What You'll Do
As a Process Engineer, you will lead the charge in optimizing and developing manufacturing processes that improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance quality. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing process improvements using lean tools (Kaizen, SM, SMED, etc.)
- Leading and participating in continuous improvement initiatives across departments
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including vendors and maintenance, to resolve process constraints
- Developing and maintaining manufacturing documentation, BOMs, and Value Stream Maps
- Evaluating existing operations to identify area for improvement and lead the change

Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree- Industrial Enginering or related field, preferably with on the job experience. An associate degree in engineering will be considered with appropriate level of experience or seven years' experience in an equivalent field. Hands on experience with industrial machines, robotics and auxiliary equipment desired. Work will be onsite
PURPOSE: The Process Engineer (PE) is responsible for identifying, developing and improving manufacturing processes to meet product sales, cost and company objectives. PE addresses constraints in the manufacturing value stream via process mapping and by utilizing the proper continuous improvement methods.
1.0 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
1.1. Follow all company safety guidelines, practices, and procedures.
1.2. Promote continuous improvement and its methodologies with all process associates. Keep associates abreast of the reasons behind changes.
1.3. Participate in and/or occasionally lead continuous improvement projects including but not limited to Kaizens, chartered teams, Just Do It projects and events.
1.4. Facilitate and coordinate process improvements with process stakeholders including outside vendors, maintenance and process associates.
1.5. Design, develop and assess/evaluate manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are produced safely at desired cost targets.
1.6. Lead the implementation/installation of new manufacturing processes. Oversee related tasks within the Design and Development process.
1.7. Evaluate existing manufacturing processes for constraints and conformance to design using Value Stream Maps, lean manufacturing concepts and proven problem-solving methods.
1.8. Update and manage Value Stream Maps as changes are implemented.
1.9. Establish equipment specifications, research testing methods, work with equipment vendors and Allied equipment engineers.
1.10. Ensure all drawings are consistently updated and reflect design changes and revisions in accordance with project specifications and standards. Upload the latest version in the designated document control system.
1.11. Develop and coordinate the manufacturing process, design details with process associates and management team personnel, as necessary.
1.12. Utilize lean manufacturing techniques such as Visual Factory Management, One Piece Flow and Single-Minute-Exchange (of) Die, etc.
1.13. Utilize effective problem-solving processes such as A3, 8D, 6-sigma, 5 Why's, etc.
1.14. Ensure accuracy of the Bill of Materials (BOM's) by evaluating/auditing minimum run quantity, output rate, first run capability, efficiency factor, etc.
1.15. Oversee the revision of any BOM's as process improvements are made.
1.16. Support implementation of and compliance to TPM throughout the manufacturing process.
1.17. Create and maintain process documents according to the controlled document system.
1.18. Keep up with professional and technical knowledge. Continually improve skills and abilities.
1.19. Perform other duties, as assigned.

4.0 MENTAL/VISUAL REQUIREMENT:
Ability to follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to work without close supervision. Ability to generate reporting documents and participate in team meetings. Self-motivated with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment. Good general ability with use of computer touch screens and written documents. Basic math skills, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

6.0 WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate frequently works near moving parts. The associate may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
