TEAM LEAD/WORKING SUPERVISOR

Are you a natural leader who leads by example? Spherion is seeking a Working Supervisor to support our partnership with SpartanNash in Bellefontaine, OH.
In this dual-capacity role, you will act as the primary onsite point of contact for our temporary staff while actively working as a Warehouse Associate in the Health and Beauty department. You will be the "bridge" between Spherion associates and SpartanNash management, ensuring daily tasks are completed efficiently while maintaining a positive, respectful team culture.


Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Oversee the daily check-in process for Spherion temporary staff, ensuring all shifts are fully staffed and associates are ready for work.
Daily Coordination: Assign tasks to temporary associates and provide hands-on guidance to ensure production goals are met.
Warehouse Operations: Perform standard warehouse duties including picking, packing, and organizing health and beauty items (approximately 70% of the shift).
Management Liaison: Maintain consistent, professional communication with SpartanNash management regarding staffing levels, performance, and safety.
Coaching & Culture: Act as an approachable mentor for staff, resolving minor conflicts and fostering a respectful work environment.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all temporary associates follow facility safety protocols and wear required PPE.


Working hours: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM


Skills:
Previous Leadership: 1+ years of experience as a Team Lead, Shift Supervisor, or Captain in a retail or industrial environment.
Warehouse Experience: Prior experience with order picking, RF scanners, or handling health and beauty/consumer goods.
Conflict Resolution: Experience de-escalating workplace frustrations and motivating a diverse team.

Qualifications:
Strong Communication: Ability to speak and write professionally when interacting with both entry-level staff and upper management.
Reliability: An impeccable attendance record, as the team relies on you for the start-of-shift check-ins.
Physical Capability: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs consistently in a warehouse setting.
Professionalism: Must be able to maintain a calm, respectful, and approachable demeanor under pressure.
