Property Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary

St. Gerard Parish is seeking a dependable and skilled Property Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the care, safety, and day-to-day maintenance of our school and church facilities. This individual will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that supports our students, staff, parishioners, and visitors. The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, and able to lead maintenance operations with professionalism and pride while supporting the mission and values of our faith community.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment
• Oversee custodial staff, including task delegation
• Coordinate preventative maintenance programs and inspections
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical issues
• Manage maintenance requests in a timely manner
• Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized services and projects
• Monitor building safety, security, and compliance with local codes and regulations
• Oversee & perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, and grounds upkeep
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment
• Assist with event setup/teardown for school and parish activities
• Respond to emergencies or after-hours maintenance needs as necessary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade certification preferred
• 3--5+ years of facilities or property maintenance experience
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor as needed
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's license
• Background check and safe environment compliance required
