Psychiatric RN Job Details
- Location: Gardner, MA 01440 (Massachusetts psychiatric nursing jobs)
- Assignment Type: Locum tenens / Travel Registered Nurse contract
- Unit: Behavioral Health Float RN
- Shift: Evening shift, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Shift Duration: 8 hours per shift
- Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1850 - $1890
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (8/25/2025 – 11/24/2025)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient Ratio: 1:12 (nights), 1:6 (days/weekends)
- Scrubs: Any color
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- At least 1 year of recent psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) certification
- Proficiency in medication administration and behavioral health protocols
- Experience with Meditech Expanse and Omnicell systems preferred
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to adult behavioral health patients
- Administer medications (PO, IM, IV, SC, etc.) and monitor patient outcomes
- Utilize de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques in psychiatric settings
- Implement behavior management strategies and seclusion protocols as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Accurately document patient care using Meditech Expanse
- Participate in psychoeducation and provide support for patients and families
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for all behavioral health patients
- Work every other weekend and some holidays as required by the nursing contract
