Job Summary: As a Shift Leader at Boom's Pizza, you are an integral part of the operational success of our restaurant during your assigned shifts. You will work closely with the management team to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service, maintain food quality standards, and uphold cleanliness protocols. Your role involves overseeing various tasks from opening to closing, ensuring a smooth operational service, and handling guest interactions effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Opening Procedures:
Arrive promptly for your shift and ensure all necessary tasks are completed to prepare the restaurant for opening.
Perform cash drawer preparation, ensuring accuracy and security.
Pull dough and conduct line checks to ensure readiness for service.
Receive and organize incoming orders, ensuring proper storage and placement.
Complete any required prep work to meet operational demands.
Guest Interaction:
Greet guests warmly and handle any complaints or inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
Address guest concerns promptly and ensure resolutions are satisfactory.
Maintain a positive and friendly demeanor to enhance the overall dining experience.
Shift Oversight:
Ensure all team members adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Monitor cleanliness standards to uphold sanitation and hygiene protocols.
Maintain open communication with team members and management to address any issues or concerns.
Order Management:
Assist with placing orders on designated order days, ensuring accurate inventory management.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or excesses to management.
Maintain pars for prep items to ensure efficient workflow during service.
Closing Procedures:
Conduct closing procedures systematically to ensure the smooth transition to the next shift.
Reconcile cash drawers and complete end-of-day financial tasks accurately.
Perform thorough checks to secure the facility and equipment before leaving.
Email to GM/AGM and supervisor with a shift overview, including any pertinent information from the day's shift, such as employee/guest issues, comps, and service notes.
Team Support:
The shift lead will function as a team member throughout service.
Working a station in either front of house or back of house.
Authority Limitations:
Shift Leads will have no control over scheduling, hours, or disciplinary actions for other hourly employees. These decisions are made exclusively by the management team.
If any issues or conflicts arise involving hourly employees, Shift Leads are required to escalate these matters to their management team.
Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience in a restaurant or food service environment, preferably in a leadership role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage team members and interact with guests.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in food preparation, inventory management, and cash handling procedures.
Commitment to upholding food safety and sanitation standards.
Flexible schedule to accommodate various shift times, including weekends and holidays.
