CVOR RN Job Details – Columbus, OH

• Location: Columbus, Ohio 43205 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse / Locum Tenens
• Unit: Pediatric Surgical Heart (CVOR Registered Nurse)
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 5, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (07:00 – 17:00)
• Hours per Week: 40
• On-Call: 1 weekend per month, 2-3 days per week
• Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults
• Daily Census: 2-3 cardiac surgery cases per day
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2500-$2560

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR RN experience (pediatric or adult cardiac OR)
• At least 1 completed travel nurse assignment required
• Active Ohio RN License or Compact Registered Nurse License (must be current)
• BLS and PALS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed
• 2 professional nursing references (one from a manager/supervisor)
• No permanent employment at this facility within the past 2 years
• Applicants must reside outside a 60-mile radius from the Columbus facility

CVOR Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver expert perioperative nursing care for pediatric and adult cardiac surgical patients in the CVOR
• Assist anesthesia during induction and provide cardiac monitoring throughout surgical procedures
• Demonstrate clinical proficiency in arterial switch operations, ASD/VSD repair, ECMO insertion/decannulation, valve repair/replacement, and other complex cardiac surgeries
• Maintain strict infection control, accurate specimen handling/labeling, and regulatory charting for cardiac transplants
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotation for cardiac surgery cases
• Float to other hospital units as required to support patient care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
