GENERAL FUNCTION

The Surface Operator will be responsible for carrying out all stages of lens production in the digital surfacing department, applying established procedures and complying with Essilor standards. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, night shift.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare the blocker by checking the temperature of the heads displayed on the digital thermometer, the prism and the axes
• Remove the blocking rings according to the manufacturing order, place a premould on the ejector, position the glass axis on the blocker and adjust the fork
• Place the lens on the blocking ring, position the fork on the lens, run the wax and unblock the lenses
• Laser-mark lenses and laser-engrave lenses as required
• Record order barcode
• Prepare polishing lens and pad according to production order
• Insert lenses into polishing machine
• At the end of the polishing cycle, place the lenses in the tray and start a new polishing cycle
• Rinse lenses in water before and after polishing
• Optimize pad life
• Place cabarets on the polished glass dock
• Deglaze and wash glasses according to established procedures
• Keep work environment clean and safe
• Ensure that equipment maintenance is carried out
• Other related tasks.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma (D.E.S.)
• Work experience: Minimum 6 months in a similar position
• Knowledge of the different types of lenses and optical products, as well as the parameters of a manufacturing order
• Computer skills, manual dexterity and acuity, organizational skills
• Ability to detect technical problems quickly
