This is an hourly position that will require working flexible hours as needed and participating in a manager on duty rotation. Hourly range is $20-$25 depending on directly applicable experience and qualifications. This is a benefitted position that is part of the community leadership team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, promote, implement, coordinate, and evaluate programs of physical, spiritual, emotional, and social well-being for residents in all levels of care and for staff.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Supervise, schedule, and evaluate wellness and activities staff, including reviewing, revising, and approving activities schedules of all levels of care prior to their implementation.
  • Provide supervision of volunteers ensuring safe work practices.
  • Develop post and maintain a record of the monthly schedule of activities.
  • Provide a timely and informative monthly newsletter.
  • Ensure timely, safe, secure and dependable transportation services in support of the facility, department activities and Companion Services.
  • Make reports and recommendations to the Executive Director as necessary or required concerning the operation of the department.
  • Develop methods for coordination of the department’s services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents' total regimen of care.
  • Coordinate with other staff members in scheduling events and use of facilities.
  • Serves on, participates in, and attends various committees of the facility, (e.g., Safety Committee) as required, and as appointed by the Executive Director.
  • Develop and maintain a robust volunteer program to help assist with evening and weekend activities.
  • Provide supervision of volunteers ensuring safe work practices.
  • Utilize [life loop or touch town] to keep residents and families engaged. Offer training and assistance to families and residents who wish to utilize this interactive tool.
  • In coordination with the marketing/sales department, develop and maintain an active social media presence for the community.
  • In coordination with marketing/sales department host quarterly resident and family/friend events. [think paint & sip, tailgate for football season, etc.]

Qualifications, skills, and abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required, applicable degree a plus.
  • One to two years of related work experience required, more preferred
  • SERVE Safe Certified (or able to achieve certification)
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Ability to safely handle food in accordance with facility policies and procedures, as well as all state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to drive a van and have a valid driver’s license and good driving record to be able to take small outings when needed.
  • Computer, software, and office equipment experience to be able to create and manage activity calendars and support events and activities.
