Product Development Technician
job summary:
Our client, a leader in the design and manufacturing of corrugated pipes and related water management products for the construction, agriculture & infrastructure industries throughout the U.S., is seeking a Product Development Technician to work in their Baltimore/DC area water quality & hydraulics lab. Key requirements include at least 5 years of related laboratory or shop experience and solid chemical process/science aptitude. A Bachelor's degree in an applicable discipline, strong mechanical aptitude, and/or exposure to the construction industry are all preferred qualifications.

responsibilities:
- Assist in test procedure setup and execution, such as assistance with simple PVC plumbing, connecting hoses and pumps, preparation and loading of small or very large vessels, weighing and blending of sediment and test media mixes, simple analytical tasks (filtering, sample preparation, and use of instrumentation, e.g., spectrophotometer, hydrometer).
- Performs basic testing tasks, such as performing basic calculations to determine flow rates and concentration levels, calibrating dry-dose feeders, interfacing with flow meters, maintaining laboratory notebook and manually recording data, weighing samples, etc.
- Assists in computer-related tasks, such as data entry & analysis, simple drawings, documentation, and ordering supplies.
- Maintains all testing equipment & instrumentation, including set-up and cleaning as needed.
- Experience performing data acquisition & instrumentation download
- 5+ years experience of Lab Technician experience
