Position Overview:

The Special Education Teacher provides specialized instruction to students in kindergarten through grade 12 under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator. This role centers on supporting students in grades K-2 within an Intervention Specialist model, delivering individualized instruction, collaborating with general education teams, and supporting academic and behavioral development.

Assignment Details:

Location: Columbus, OH

Start Date: March 16, 2026

Duration: 13 weeks

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.)

Pay Rate: $55/hour (local)

Modality: In-person only

Openings: 1 position

Details of Assignment:

• Serving a K-2 Intervention Specialist caseload

• Classroom size: 16 students or fewer

• Elementary-aged teaching experience required

• Uses Education Unlimited License or Intervention Specialist license (accepted for this position)

• Virtual interview required

• First day includes orientation with SPED Director

• Business-casual dress code required

Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted small-group and individualized instruction to K-2 students

• Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications

• Collaborate with SPED Director, general education teachers, and related service providers

• Support developmental, academic, and behavioral needs

• Maintain documentation, progress-monitoring, and communication with families and staff

• Participate in planning, data review, and instructional team meetings

Requirements:

• Active Ohio license: Education Degree Unlimited License or Intervention Specialist License

• Elementary-level SPED teaching experience required

• Ability to support diverse learning and behavioral needs

• CPR, TB screening, and health clearance if required

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
