TITLE: Home Health Aide (HHA incl. STNA, CNA, PCA, or DoDD DSP)
SPECIALIZATIONS:
- Home Health Aide requirements:
- Either Active CNA or STNA certification + 1 or more years of paid experience
- Or +2 or more years of paid home health experience for HHA or PCA without certification.
- DSP (Direct Support Professional) requirements:
- Active DSP Certification from Ohio DODD + 1 or more years of experience caring for persons with disabilities.
- Additional Medication Certifications, Hoyer lift experience, specific disease-state care experience, etc., are highly desirable but not required.
LOCATION: Brown County, Ohio including Georgetown, Mount Orab, Ripley, Sardinia, Hamersville, Fayetteville, and surrounding areas.
- Willingness to travel to clients up to a 30-minute radius (from your home) is required .
- Up to 45- or 60-minute client travel radius (from your home) is highly desired.
SCHEDULE TYPE: [Customizable] Choose Weekdays and/or Weekends - with daytime and/or evening shifts available.
- Unlike some agencies, HCN provides caregivers with consistent, predictable weekly schedules.
We match you to clients with set days/times of care each week that align with your availability and preferences - instead of changing shift assignments or rotations every few weeks. This provides you with more stable hours, dependable income, and better work/life balance, and allows deeper relationships, consistency, and trust to be built between you and your clients (and their families).
If joining us as a second job, your other employer must be flexible enough to work around your set schedule with us, as we require consistency and reliability for our clients.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE:
- This is a long-term employment opportunity (2+ years at HCN)
- Part-Time (8-31 hrs/wk) and Full-Time (32-40 hrs/wk) positions available - built to fit your availability and preferences.
POSITION SUMMARY:
To support new clients in Southern Ohio requiring home healthcare services, Home Care Network, Inc. is seeking 2-3 experienced, passionate, and professional Home Health Aides (incl. HHA, STNA, CNA, PCA or DoDD DSP) to join our home health agency and provide daily care, skill development, health monitoring, and advocacy to and on behalf of clients across Brown County, Ohio and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Personal care, hygiene, mobility, and ADL assistance
- Light housekeeping and meal prep
- Community Integration & Skill Building (inside AND outside of the home)
- May include chaperoning or accompaniment to events
- Implementation of Individual Service Plan (ISP)

Schedule Options
- Weekdays and/or Weekends (or Hybrid) include daytime and/or evenings.
- Night/Overnight shifts are rarely available.
- Part-Time and Full-Time availability desired (based on client needs and availability).
- Occasional client-specific flexibility is needed between school year vs summer/holiday schedules (for pediatric clients), and general family respite needs and/or medical appointment changes.
- Local travel throughout Lucas County and surrounding areas.
Requirements / Non-Negotiables
- Minimum of 1 year paid in-home care or caregiving experience
- Actively-certified DSPs, STNAs and CNAs w/ +1 year experience are highly desired (or HHA/PCA with 2+ years paid experience)
- DSPs also require a valid DoDD DSP certificate within the past 12 months and familiarity with Ohio Board of DoDD rules.
- Successful completion of all HCN skills tests and competency evaluations.
- Willingness and timely compliance to maintain all ongoing Training & Certification Requirements
- Active CPR + FA certification (+ proof/documentation of both readily available)
- Medication Administration Certification is highly preferred
- 18yo + active Driver's License / State ID
- Reliable transportation to all scheduled visits, within full reach of stated travel radius.
- Exceptional on-time and attendance record, and consistent availability aligned to your chosen schedule type (PT/FT/Hybrid).
- Consent + Ability to pass a State & Federal background check (including fingerprints)
- Willing and able to regularly perform all physical demands of home care (including lifting/carrying up to 30–50 lbs. occasionally).

- Recognize changes in health status; Follow care plans and medical protocols; Understand and apply infection control and safety procedures.
- Ability to complete daily service documentation, incident reports, and EVV (Electronic Visit Verification) entries.
- Possess above-basic computer and mobile device proficiency. Experience with modern EMR/EHRs is a plus.
- Must adhere to Individual rights protections (Ohio Bill of Rights for individuals with DD), Confidentiality (HIPAA compliance), and Mandatory reporting laws (abuse, neglect, exploitation).
- Must maintain professionalism with individuals, families, and care teams.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications (not required)
- 3-5 years paid caregiving experience with exceptional referrals
- Experience with:
- G-tubes / feeding support
- Seizure protocols
- Behavioral health or crisis response
- EVV activities and compliance
- Familiarity with Medicaid waiver services
Starting Pay Rate (Hourly): $15 - $17 per hour
Pay Rate based on location, certifications, experience, schedule and travel availability, work history, references, client needs, and overall fit.

Report to: RN Case Manager / Administrator
A successful Home Healthcare Aide provides personal care services under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Therapist in their region. You will be assigned to specific clients by the Registered Nurse or other appropriate professionals and perform services for clients as necessary to maintain personal comfort and safety in their home.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
As a Home Health Aide, you will :
- Deliver direct patient care and support, following the established plan of care.
- Measure and record vital signs and other specified metrics as instructed.
- Assist with personal care tasks and activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, oral hygiene, nail & skin care, shaving, dressing).
- Perform household tasks essential to health care and living at home (e.g., meal preparation/feeding, laundry, light housekeeping).
- Assists patients in taking medications under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. This includes opening a container or pill caddy & handing it to the patient, but does not include administration of the medications.
- Identify and report any abnormal findings or changes in the patient's condition.
- Help with therapy exercises under supervision of our therapists (e.g., range of motion exercises, ambulation assistance).
Additional Essential Functions and Areas of Accountability:
- Know and follow infection control policies including proper hand washing techniques.
- Report any observed or reported changes in the client's condition and/or needs to the Registered Nurse.
- Document care provided and complete all forms required for the client's records. Complete the appropriate records to document cares given and pertinent observations.
- Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients by observing infection control practices, following agency guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the Supervisor/Case Manager.
- Demonstrate safe practice in the use of equipment, avoiding equipment use until orientation has been provided. Notifying supervisor(s) of educational needs immediately.
- Communicates effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team through verbal reports, participation in staff meetings, and team conferences, as requested and through approved channels in a very timely manner.
- Treat patients and families with respect. Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
- Accept and fulfill assignments with our agency. Exercise good judgment in accepting assignments.
- Participate in required in-service programs to meet compliance requirements. Identify learning needs to agency supervisor.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
Performs simple procedures as an extension of therapy services under the direction and supervision of the therapist.
