We are seeking a skilled and motivated UPS Field Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and commissioning critical power equipment throughout your assigned region. You will work closely with customers, internal service teams, and cross-functional departments to ensure maximum system reliability and uptime.
This position requires frequent travel to customer sites, including overnight travel, as well as participation in weekend and on-call support rotations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and emergency service on UPS and critical power equipment.
Commission new UPS systems and perform startup testing.
Conduct commissioning-focused design reviews and prepare commissioning procedures and reports.
Diagnose electrical and electronic system issues using schematics and test equipment.
Complete work orders accurately and efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service.
Communicate technical issues and solutions with engineering and technical support teams.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors.
Conduct operational and technical training for customers and field service technicians.
Develop Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and Scopes of Work (SOW).
Assist with equipment testing, refurbishment, and rebuilding activities at the company's main office when not assigned to field work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience with UPS systems, power systems, battery technologies, electronics, or related electrical equipment (relevant coursework and internships will be considered).
High School Diploma or GED required.
Electrical Technology Certificate or related technical education is preferred.
Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting, testing, and repair skills.
Valid, unrestricted driver's license.
Ability to pass customer-required background checks and drug screenings.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Requirements:
Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight travel.
Availability to work weekends and participate in an on-call rotation.
Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
