ECI has immediate openings for Senior SCADA Engineers familiar with substation and power system integration. Responsibilities include the conceptual and detailed design of new, upgraded, and expanded substations, including material procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization and the scoping, budgeting, scheduling, planning, executing, monitoring, and reporting of substation projects and proposals.
Added responsibilities include SCADA system design and integration on new and existing transmission, distribution, and interconnection substations, renewable energy plants and related facilities; working with all parties involved with SCADA and communications related planning, infrastructure, devices, protocols; ISO/RTO requirements and testing; and overall integration and implementation of custom systems using IEC 61131-3 structured text programming as well as DNP3, Modbus, SEL, IEC-61850 and OPC SCADA protocols.
Familiarity with SEL-RTAC or OrionLX data concentrators and SEL, GE, and other protective relays is a plus. This position will also be responsible for acting as the lead SCADA interface to clients externally as well as internal project managers.
Occasional travel to perform onsite SCADA commissioning as well as client meetings is required.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years' project engineering experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience; PE license is preferred. Experience with bulk power transmission substations; renewable plant PPC operation, voltage/VAR control systems; system integration experience with Wind, Solar, and BESS resources as well as hybrid plant setups; familiar and comfortable with implementing a variety of system topologies, RTU/Data Concentrator/PLC hardware; HMI & SCADA software; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills; commitment to quality and accuracy; and a willingness and ability to meet fast-paced project schedules. The successful applicant must have an advanced knowledge of power engineering principals, understand applicable codes, standards and design tools, and have the ability to direct and oversee multiple technical disciplines to complete substation projects. The successful applicant may be subject to drug and background checks. Occasional travel/driving is required; therefore, the successful applicant will be subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements.
