Overview
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure Platform team. This role involves performing day-to-day engineering tasks for our large enterprise environment with over 50,000 users. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enabling productivity while protecting the organization's mission through maintaining and enhancing security architecture standards.

This role is remote, but candidates must be based in the Cincinnati/Dayton area or within reasonable distance to our colocation data centers in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Key Responsibilities

· Serve as a dedicated technical resource for the Infrastructure Platform team

· Day to day administration of the Microsoft Technology Environment including Server OS, AD, DNS, GPO, and Azure integration.

· Manage practical security internally by working on tickets generated by the security team and writing scripts to automate processes.

· Practical application of ISO / PCI / SOC2 standards to the Infrastructure Platform Environment

· Collaborate with the internal security team focused on pushing out security fixes.

· Provide Cisco network administration as needed.

· Update and maintain documentation, including standards, guidelines, contingency plans, and incident management plans.

· Provide engineering and technical support for solving security issues.

· Be available off hours as needed.

Requirements

· Extensive experience as a Microsoft Engineer with heavy VMWare expertise.

· Familiarity with large enterprise environments (50K+ users).

· Strong networking experience, including knowledge of Cisco route/switch and networking principles.

· Familiarity with Linux, and PowerShell.

· Ability to write and generate scripts to automate security processes and remediate human errors.

· Well-rounded in infrastructure and server management with a focus on practical security.

· Deep familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory technologies.

· Experience in working with Cloud Providers like AWS and Azure and connectivity into those environments

· Checkpoint family of products, including Firewalls and Endpoint Protection.

· Extensive troubleshooting and mitigation skills

Nice to Have Skills

· Suse Kubernetes and Suse Rancher.

· Knowledge of Software as a Service (SaaS).

· IBM System i Platform

· AWS in a public - private hybrid data center environment

· VeloCloud SD-WAN technology

· Omnissa Horizon (formerly VMware Horizon)

· Load Balancer technologies

· Participation in the company’s change control process

Soft Skills Needed

· Ability to handle complexity and innovate.

· Ability to self-start and learn new technologies as needed.

· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

· Proven background with a wide range of technologies.

· Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while being based in the Cincinnati/Dayton area. Must be able to be on-site at colocation data centers as needed.

· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent job / Military experience.

· 5+ Years of working in a professional IT environment.

· Microsoft, Security, or VMware certifications a plus.
