Job Description

The OHIO Chillicothe Student Services department seeks enthusiastic and engaging students to join our team. Student Resource Center (SRC) Student Assistants provide support to the students and other members of the campus community by staffing and maintaining the Chillicothe campus Student Resource Center which provides food, clothing, hygiene products, school supplies, and outside referrals to students in need. Duties may include the following:

1. Serve as the point of first contact for students who visit the SRC; provide helpful and judgement free customer service to all guests, determining needs and making appropriate recommendations.

2. Manage SRC inventory including sorting and organizing donations, distributing items, soliciting and accepting donations, and transferring donations to other agencies.

3. Understand local agencies and community resources and properly refer students for services outside of what the SRC provides.

4. Facilitate monthly campus programming focusing on food and housing insecurity, professional dress, donation drives, and other related topics.

5. Collaborate with campus departments and external agencies to increase services and reach.

6. Collect and report data regarding SRC usage.

7. Maintain a high level of communication with coworkers and supervisor.

8. Learn and understand campus details including units, employees, and processes in order to assist all members of the campus community.

9. Communicate with a variety of individuals and groups via speech, email, and text.

10. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Be a student at OHIO University or another educational institution.

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 which is a grade of “C” or higher

• Basic computer literacy

• Great attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

• Good interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to work productively without close supervision

• Ability to follow confidentiality policies

• If a minor, obtain a work permit, parental consent, and proof of age.
