What a Typical Week Looks Like
You’ll be the steward of our Environmental Management System (EMS), guiding a manufacturing site toward best-in-class environmental performance. Early in the week, you’ll review monitoring data, validate greenhouse gas (GHG) metrics, and prepare compliance documentation. Mid-week, you’ll be on the floor auditing stormwater controls, reviewing spill prevention practices, and coaching teams on Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements. You’ll close the week by submitting reports, engaging with regulatory agencies, and planning the next wave of carbon neutrality and sustainability initiatives.
Your Core Impact
- Own and improve the Environmental Management System (EMS), including alignment with ISO 14001 requirements.
- Ensure the site meets all federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permit conditions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the EPA, local agencies, and environmental authorities.
- Prepare and submit environmental reports, permits, and comprehensive compliance documentation.
- Track, analyze, and report greenhouse gas emissions while driving reduction initiatives.
- Lead sustainability and carbon neutrality projects that reduce waste and prevent pollution.
- Conduct environmental audits and facility inspections, including stormwater and SPCC program reviews.
- Administer hazardous waste handling and disposal programs in accordance with regulations.
- Design and implement waste reduction and pollution prevention programs.
- Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain and update SPCC plans and other environmental compliance records.
- Support site recycling programs and produce sustainability reporting.
- Coordinate the Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) program.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of environmental engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficient in air, water, and land permitting regulations.
- Hands-on experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
- Proven track record with environmental compliance reporting and interactions with regulatory agencies.
- Analytical, organized, and strong problem-solver; comfortable working independently and cross-functionally.
Preferred Background
- Experience in automotive or other manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to multi-site or 24/7 operations.
- Demonstrated work in sustainability and GHG reduction initiatives.

Where You’ll Work
- Split time between office and the manufacturing floor.
