Accounting Clerk

Summary:

The Krill Co., Inc. is in search of a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk. The ideal candidate will assist the accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records and performing a variety of accounting and bookkeeping tasks. This position is mid-level with potential for career growth to Project Accountant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
• Assisting with accounting activities pertaining to all aspects of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and month/year end close procedures.
• Prepare weekly accounts payable check runs.
• Perform departmental responsibilities such as 401k processing, credit card transactions processing and account reconciliations.
• Review and reconcile monthly subcontractor activity.
• Prepare and maintain accurate accounting documents and records.
• Review and reconcile monthly accounts payable statements.
• Research, track, and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
• Complete special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Some post-secondary education or technical training in accounting or related fields.
• Must have proven 5+ years’ experience as an accounting clerk or similar role.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Must be skilled with MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Strong time management, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Good people skills.
• Knowledge of construction-specific accounting practices is a plus.

Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000.
