Development Manager (Non-Profit)

Position Summary

The Development Manager helps advance the mission of KAA by planning, managing, and executing fundraising initiatives that generate sustainable revenue and strengthen community engagement.

This ideal candidate is a relationship builder with 2+ years of experience in fundraising, development, events, or related work. The Development Manager oversees two major fundraising events, annual giving programs, and facilitates donor stewardship and gift processing.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, track budgets, and report on outcomes.
• Experience with fundraising or marketing tools preferred (donor CRM, email platform Constant Contact, Canva).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work full-time on-site, with occasional evening and weekend hours for events.

Key Skills & Responsibilities

Fundraising Events

• Plan, coordinate, and execute major annual fundraising events.
• Manage relationships with sponsors, donors, volunteers, and vendors.
• Develop event materials, sponsorship packages, and promotional content.
• Track and report event performance, outcomes, and budgets.

Annual Giving & Campaigns

• Strategize and implement KAA’s annual giving plan, including year-end appeals, monthly giving, and targeted campaigns.
• Create fundraising content for print, email, social media, and web.
• Peer to Peer fundraising experience a plus.

Donor Relations & Stewardship

• Maintain ongoing communication with donors, sponsors, and community partners.
• Develop and execute creative stewardship activities.
• Ensure accurate gift entry, acknowledgments, and donor reporting.

Project & Workflow Management

• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects with attention to detail.
• Respond to real-time feedback and adapt quickly.
• Comfortable meeting fundraising, engagement, and stewardship KPIs.
