Job Summary
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all HR functions within a manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with labor laws, supporting workforce planning, and fostering a safe, productive workplace. This role partners closely with plant leadership to drive employee engagement, performance management, and operational efficiency. MUST have manufacturing experience. MUST have non-union experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all HR activities for the manufacturing facility, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and retention
- Partner with plant management to support workforce planning, staffing strategies, and succession planning
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Administer and improve HR policies, procedures, and programs aligned with company goals
- Manage employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and resolve conflicts effectively
- Oversee performance management processes, including evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions
- Support training and development initiatives, including safety training and leadership development
- Collaborate with safety teams to promote a safe working environment and ensure OSHA compliance
- Manage compensation, benefits, and payroll coordination (as applicable)
- Analyze HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, productivity) to inform decision-making
- Lead or support labor relations activities, including union interactions if applicable
- Drive employee engagement initiatives to improve morale and retention
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 5–8+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong payroll expertise
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience working in fast-paced, production-driven environments
- Proven ability to manage employee relations and conflict resolution
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards (e.g., OSHA)
- Experience with HRIS systems and data analysis
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move through a manufacturing facility
- Occasional lifting (up to 20–25 lbs) if needed
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (noise, temperature, etc.)
