Small Business Credit Manager
:
The Small Business Credit Manager is responsible for underwriting small business credits through the use of a business credit scoring model in accordance to WPCU policies and procedures.
- Supervises daily functions associated with loan credit scoring process for loan requests below $350,000, including application review, credit underwriting, pipeline management, and system administration. Ensures loan requests are generally decisioned within 48 hours of submission. Ensure assigned business units are operating efficiently and reliably, are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and rules, have appropriate operating controls to mitigate risk, and are performing at a high level. (45%)
- Completes annual reviews on existing credits to include analysis of cash flow, financial condition, management ability, repayment history and adjustments to risk rating. Provides quarterly reports on the small business portfolio performance, trends, and concentrations. Maintains appropriate loan documentation in the MBS loan origination system. (15%)
- Reviews marginal loans for possible approval/counteroffer, reviews requests for override approval consideration and completes cash flow analytics for larger or complex small business loans. (10%)
- Provide assistance and training to Member Centers and Member Business Services regarding small business loan processing. (10%)
- Develops and maintains necessary documentation, periodic reports, and procedures for the small business loan program. Makes recommendations to senior management for program enhancements. (10%)
- Performs other duties and develops additional competencies as assigned by the Credit Manager related to business loan underwriting (10%)
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business related field is preferred. Candidates who present an equivalent combination of formal training and experience in commercial credit analysis may also be considered.
- At least 3 years' experience in Business Lending is strongly preferred.
- At least 3 years' experience successfully managing people or previous experience leading a team in a project management, or otherwise supervising significant operational initiatives from development through deployment.
- Proven ability to learn complex or sophisticated concepts and apply appropriately is required.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize the necessary software to complete the job function.
- Working knowledge of income statements, balance sheet, spread analysis and other corporate financial documents is required.
