Job Title: Business Developer – Commercial Landscape Services
Location: Northwest Cleveland, Ohio
Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $70,000–$80,000

  • Competitive Commission Structure

Company Overview

Our client is a full-service comm ercial landscape company offering comprehensive landscape maintenance, snow removal, and construction/installation services. Known for their professionalism, quality, and customer satisfaction, they are looking to add an experienced and motivated Business Developer to drive sales growth and build long-lasting client relationships.

Position Summary

The Business Developer is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with potential and existing clients, and expanding the company’s footprint across commercial landscape maintenance and snow services. This role requires industry knowledge, a results-driven mindset, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to exceed revenue goals

  • Prospect and establish strong relationships with commercial clients in landscape maintenance and construction

  • Sell recurring grounds maintenance and snow removal service contracts

  • Prepare and deliver customized proposals based on client needs and company capabilities

  • Attend trade shows, networking events, and industry functions to generate leads

  • Utilize company CRM and estimating tools to generate proposals and manage the sales pipeline

  • Monitor market conditions and competitor activity to refine strategies

  • Collaborate with operations, estimating, and management teams to deliver seamless service

  • Maintain and grow current client accounts through consistent communication and service quality

  • Track financial performance of projects and ensure alignment with profitability targets

  • Provide expert advice on landscaping, plant health, pests, irrigation, and related client inquiries

  • Uphold company core values and enforce policies across all interactions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Horticulture, or related field preferred

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably within the commercial landscaping or snow management industries

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background and drug screening

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of horticulture, turf, plant health, and landscape maintenance best practices

  • Ability to identify plant species, weeds, pests, diseases, and other landscape issues

  • Competence in math and geometry for area and volume calculations

  • Skilled in estimating, pricing, and closing service agreements

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and industry-specific software

  • Strong communication skills—written and verbal

  • Problem-solving abilities in complex, dynamic environments

  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions and long hours during seasonal peaks
