The Medical Physics division operates under the Imaging/Diagnostic Institute and plays a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of imaging services, with a primary focus on X-ray systems. The department provides critical support in quality assurance, equipment performance evaluation, and compliance with regulatory standards. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the department is actively involved in the education and training of future medical physicists. One resident is recruited each year into a three-year Medical Physics Residency Program, which is structured to provide comprehensive training in diagnostic medical physics. The residency program maintains a strong commitment to personalized mentorship and high-quality education. Please note that the program does not sponsor visas. **A caregiver in this position works varying shifts.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Develop skills to become an independent Diagnostic Medical Physicist; a complete list of requirements is given in the Cleveland Clinic Diagnostic Medical Physics Program Manual. + Principal duties include learning how to test the following types of units: MR, CT, Mammography, Basic X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, DEXA, Cardiac Catheterization, Digital radiography plates and readers, Computed radiography plates and readers, and Flat panel monitors. + Learn dosimetry, including the use of TLDs, ion chambers, solid state detectors and other forms of radiation detection. + Participate in selected conferences, required regulatory meetings, regularly scheduled residency meetings and perform required log and journal entries. + Become proficient in the application of Federal and State laws regulating the safe use of imaging devices, understanding the role of imaging equipment accrediting bodies such as the American College of Radiology (ACR) and other possible bodies. + Other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Advanced degree in Medical Physics (Master's or PhD) from a CAMPEP approved education program + A valid driver's license (VDL) **Physical Requirements:** + Bending, reaching, sitting, squatting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, lifting, and transporting testing equipment greater than 75 pounds. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures. **Pay Range** Minimum Annual Salary: $43,200.00 Maximum Annual Salary: $65,880.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
