School Compliance Coordinator

Overview

Charter School Specialists, the premier Education Service Provider serving Ohio Community Schools, is seeking qualified candidates for the open position of Compliance Coordinator

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, you will ensure all aspects of our compliance monitoring are being provided to an assigned selection of schools we serve across the state. The successful candidate in this position will first and foremost be highly detail oriented, have strong organizational and communication skills, and thrive on meeting deadlines. Having a background in Ohio charter schools, the Ohio charter school compliance process and a strong understanding of best practices in education would be considered highly beneficial in this role.

Duties

• Monitor compliance of community schools sponsored by St. Aloysius Orphanage and provide technical assistance to support schools in becoming compliant with all rules, laws and terms of their charters with St. Aloysius.
• Conduct onsite and virtual compliance reviews, perform annual opening assurances reviews, attend schools’ Board meetings throughout the year, and engage in general interactions with school leaders, board members, and other representatives.
• Complete special projects as assigned.

We seek someone with the following Skills/Qualifications/Education:

• A minimum of two years of experience in various aspects of public charter school sponsorship, school operations, auditing, compliance monitoring; greater experience preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of federal and state laws, state administrative rules and contract language.
• Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, e-mail) and other computer applications.
• Able to use standard office equipment, laptops and scanners.
• Experience as a compliance coordinator, auditor, document reviewer, paralegal, or similar
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; preferred
• Demonstrated ability in building relationships, adding new skills, continuous improvement both personally and as a professional

The successful candidate can be located anywhere in the State of Ohio, but Columbus local candidates will be working from our corporate office in Pickerington. This position does require some travel as required for school site visits, school board meetings, educational opportunities and company All Staff meetings and events. Travel requirement is less than 20%

The successful candidate must pass / meet the background requirements for anyone working in public education in Ohio

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
