POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager is a key leadership role within the Accounting Department at VARGO®, responsible for overseeing the daily financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role supervises the Accounts Receivable Specialist and the Staff Accountant and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making. The Accounting Manager ensures compliance with GAAP and internal controls, assists in budgeting and forecasting efforts, and supports audits and financial planning initiatives. This position plays a critical role in maintaining efficient and compliant financial processes that align with the company’s growth and operational goals.

Travel Required: Minimal (0 - 10%)
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Manage cash flow and monitor bank accounts to ensure proper balances are maintained.
- Assist the CFO with the budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the coordination of external audits, including preparation of required documentation.
- Assist in preparing information for annual tax filings.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Implement and improve accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition and cost accounting practices, particularly in a project driven business environment.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Master's is a plus
- CPA certification preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, including 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience with ERP systems, SAP Business One preferred.
