Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will work closely with other team members to support the overall financial health of the organization.

Staff Accountant – Expanded Role

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, ADP, and Excel
• Analytical and detail-oriented
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
• CPA preferred but not required

Duties & Responsibilities

• Record journal entries and maintain general ledger
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements
• Process accounts payable and receivable
• Support payroll processing and PTO tracking
• Assist with month-end and year-end close
• Prepare financial statements and reports
• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes
• Monitor cash flow and financial health
• Coordinate audits and tax filings
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance
• Track KPIs and financial performance metrics
• Support strategic financial planning and analysis
• Assist with investor reporting and board materials
• Collaborate on financial strategy and risk management

Working Conditions

• Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional extended hours during peak periods such as month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• The role involves frequent interaction with internal departments and occasional communication with external vendors or auditors.
• The noise level is typically low to moderate.
• May occasionally require remote work depending on company policy and operational needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g., seated) for extended periods while working on a computer.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, calculators, phones, copiers, and printers.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via email.
• Visual acuity to read and interpret financial documents, spreadsheets, and computer screens.
• May occasionally need to lift or carry items up to 20 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies).
