Position Overview

The Department of Finance at The Ohio State University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) of Finance to begin Autumn 2026. We welcome and will consider all applications, but we will focus our search especially on the areas where we have recruiting needs, which are microstructure, and behavioral finance.

We stress excellence in research and in teaching at the undergraduate, MBA and/or Ph.D. levels.

Education and Experience Requirements

Candidates for Assistant Professor should have a Ph.D. in finance or economics, or expect to complete a Ph.D. in the near future. Priority areas for recruiting are microstructure and behavioral finance. Candidates should demonstrate the potential for outstanding achievement in research and teaching.

The College

Fisher College of Business has a rich research tradition and engages through the college and the Graduate School in programs at the undergraduate, master and doctoral levels. The nationally ranked Fisher College of Business is one of 15 colleges within the university, with approximately 9,000 undergraduate and 1,200 graduate students.

Department Information

The Department of Finance which houses faculty specializing in financial economics, business law, and insurance. Our over 20 faculty members are internationally known researchers and teachers. We provide a vibrant research and teaching atmosphere, characterized by extensive collaboration with a shared goal of conducting leading-edge research and providing students with the skills they need to succeed in the field of finance.
