We are a high-quality General Practice and Urgent Care hospital that thrives on teamwork, collaboration, and compassionate care. Our culture is built on Fear Free practices, low-stress handling, and a strong commitment to work-life balance.
About the Role:
As our RVT Manager, you’ll be both a leader and an active member of our medical team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll spend about 85% of your time on the floor working alongside the team and 15% in administrative leadership. You’ll oversee and mentor a team of roughly 20 veterinary technicians and kennel staff, while ensuring smooth daily operations, providing training and development, scheduling, and performance reviews.
We’re looking for someone with excellent people skills, problem-solving ability, and the confidence to provide mentorship and feedback. The right candidate will have a big-picture mindset while also being comfortable jumping into patient care when needed.
What You’ll Do:
Lead, mentor, and train the veterinary technician and support the team
Manage scheduling, team dynamics, and day-to-day hospital flow
Conduct staff reviews and provide in-the-moment feedback
Work collaboratively with doctors and staff on cases, ensuring high-quality medicine
Support a positive, inclusive culture that motivates and inspires the team
Balance floor work with leadership responsibilities
Engage with our community partnerships and student mentorship programs
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years of experience in veterinary medicine
3+ years of leadership experience, preferably leading a large team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to mentor, motivate, and foster growth in others
Comfortable having tough conversations when necessary
A collaborative, supportive leadership style
Schedule & Compensation:
4x10-hour shifts with rotating 3-day weekends
Occasional weekend coverage for special needs (e.g., inventory)
Salary: $52,000 - $60,000 based on experience
Benefits:
Full medical, dental, and vision benefits
CE allowance
State license reimbursement
Uniform allowance
Employee pet discounts
Strong culture of employee self-care (massage chair in break room, self-care initiatives throughout the year)
Our Culture & Community:
Kings Veterinary Hospital is proud to consistently rank in the top percentile for employee engagement across our network. We truly value work-life balance and foster a supportive, team-first environment.
We are deeply rooted in our community:
Partner with Love Like Louie , promoting anti-bullying and inclusiveness
Collaborating with the Children’s Theatre , providing care to animal actors
Mentor local high school students with internships each semester
Donate quarterly to the SPCA and Humane Society in memory of beloved patients
Why Join Us?
If you’re a skilled RVT with leadership experience who loves mentoring others, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to be part of a high-quality, community-focused hospital with an amazing culture, we’d love to hear from you!
Apply today to join Kings Veterinary Hospital and help us continue building a workplace where people and pets thrive.
