As an inpatient APP, we will support your professional growth through mentorship, specialty training, and exposure to complex cases that broaden your scope.
Qualifications:
- Preferred at least 2 years of experience as an advanced practice provider in the inpatient setting. Gastroenterology experience is desired but not required.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
- Current national certification as Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
- Current state license and registration.
- Valid DEA license
- Certified in BLS endorsed by the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities:
- Perform new patient consultations and follow-up visits in the hospital setting.
- Conduct history and physical examinations, establish presumptive diagnoses, and order appropriate laboratory studies and tests.
- Interpret and evaluate findings of diagnostic testing.
- Triage patients to determine the urgency of evaluation.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with supervising physicians, APPs, and other members of the patient care team.
- Communicate effectively with patients and other care team members.
- Consider individuals’ cultural, psychological, social, and environmental factors in creating treatment and care plans.
- Provide necessary patient education.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
