Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Akron, OH 44304 (Ohio healthcare jobs)
• Facility Type: Level 1 Trauma Center, Adult Acute Care
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (8/25/2025 – 11/22/2025)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1680 - $1730
• Employment Type: Travel Respiratory Therapist

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Graduate of an A.M.A. or CoARC approved Respiratory Therapy program (Registry eligible)
• Active Ohio Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required, or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with ability to obtain RRT within 120 days
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care or hospital setting
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse patient populations

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Review and confirm physician orders to ensure quality patient care
• Monitor, document, and assess patient response to respiratory therapy and treatment
• Perform respiratory and pulmonary procedures according to hospital protocols
• Respond to medical emergencies and participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Set up, operate, and maintain respiratory equipment; administer medical gases and medications
• Collaborate with patient care teams and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Educate patients, families, and healthcare professionals on respiratory care procedures
• Maintain clinical proficiency and participate in ongoing respiratory therapy training
