Automation Project Engineer

Wright Technical Services is representing a fast growing machine tool manufacturer that serves customers around the globe. They are a leader in their respective industry and have a history of invention and innovation. This company is experiencing rapid growth and they are adding to their engineering team. Note this is a direct hire permanent position with our client.

In this position you will:

• Be responsible for the engineering and manufacture of company's custom machining centers and equipment to support customer’s request. These options are widely varied in design and function, typically new and unique customer defined, and interface directly with the standard CNC equipment.
• The Automation Project Engineer provides leadership in 3 primary areas of responsibility:
  
• Technical Knowledge and Resource Project Engineer provides technological evaluation for project problems. Is recognized by team for technical knowledge. Develops detailed specifications regarding requirements, schedules, and communicates these across several departments within company and with vendor base. Project Engineer is capable of performing all Controls Engineering functions including conceptual design, layout design, detail design, and design certification for electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Project Engineer must discover, qualify, develop, and utilize Engineering and Manufacturing firms to accurately Design, Detail, Check and Manufacture all Engineered requirements for company Machines and integrated systems. Project Engineer is responsible and accountable for the design approval and timeliness of Engineering projects within Engineering group. Must find solutions to obstacles and work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing vendors to overcome these issues to resolution.
• Project Management Project Engineer is responsible and accountable for communications between all areas of the company, and all Engineering and Manufacturing firms involved in these projects. Must conduct frequent reviews with all involved parties. Responsible for all phases of assigned Engineering projects to ensure departmental success in terms of time constraints, financial profitability, and achieving customer requirements. Effectively evaluate Engineering projects and propose project schedule, with consideration given to staffing and work flow issues. Submit all project schedule proposals to Engineering Team Leader for final approval. Coordinate with other Project Leaders for workflow issues. Project schedules and updates, vendor schedules and budgets, request for resources and any other project related information will be conveyed to the Engineering Team Leader as deemed necessary by the Team Leader.
• Technical Liaison Identified as technical liaison to Order Champion, Project Manager, Application Engineering Team Leader, Manufacturing personnel, and customer base. Responsible for technical content coordination of Engineering projects with Order Champion, Project Manager, Application Engineering Team Leader, and Manufacturing personnel. Project Engineer has complete responsibility for all engineered requirements from concept to installation and run off. This includes all engineering, purchasing and assembly of components, sub assemblies and all related details. Project Engineer has responsibility for recommendations of technological enhancements, candidate interviews, and technical review of select external Engineering and Manufacturing projects.

Your background:

• 4 years of technical education (Bachelors Degree) with an emphasis on, Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing, and Electrical Engineering in conjunction with 5-8 years controls design experience OR, 8 - 10 years of controls design experience. Moderate exposure to Project Management.
