Position Title: Dental Care Assistant

Locations: 9601 Chester Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44106

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

Expected Duration: 6 Months

Job Type: Temp to Hire for the right candidate

Pay rate: $18.44/hr on W2

Need: Minimum of 3 months of dental assisting experience required. Candidates with job-hopping or short-term roles will not be considered. A stable and consistent work history is a must.

“Note: Free parking is not available at the facility. A $25 parking fee will be charged on the first day of joining and reimbursed after 60 days. For cleaning roles, a thorough background check (criminal history) will be conducted, covering the period from age 18 to the present.”

Endodontics Department – Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Clinical Preparation and Chair-Side Assistance (20%)
   Prepare procedure rooms for patient care, ensuring cleanliness and proper setup. Transport contaminated instruments to the designated biohazard instrument cart and maintain strict aseptic technique. Provide chair-side dental assistance to faculty and residents during procedures. Review daily patient schedules with the Scheduling Coordinator or Dental Assistant II to optimize clinic efficiency. Report any changes in patient condition to residents or faculty and assist student doctors/residents in providing post-operative instructions for routine and specialized procedures.
2. Clinic Readiness and Maintenance (40%)
   Ensure the clinic is clean, organized, and fully prepared for daily operations. Set up and break down procedure rooms for students and residents. Clean and disinfect all equipment according to infection control protocols. Restock clinical and procedure room supplies as needed to maintain smooth workflow.
3. Instrument Reprocessing and Sterilization (20%)
   Clean, disinfect, and sterilize oral surgery instruments and equipment following established protocols. Conduct and document daily quality assurance and sterilization testing in compliance with infection control and safety standards.
4. Inventory and Supply Management (10%)
   Monitor and manage dental and office supply inventory. Track supply usage and prepare purchase requisitions for restocking as needed. Obtain appropriate authorizations for all supply orders.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Assist with patient scheduling as needed. (0.25%)
2. Coordinate imaging requests for the department. (0.5%)
3. Manage pathology and microbiology specimen submissions. (0.75%)
4. Inspect and verify proper equipment functionality; report malfunctions to the Nurse Manager and remove non-operational equipment from service. Review student documentation for accuracy and report deficiencies to instructors. (2%)
5. Assist in initiating and performing resuscitation procedures in emergency situations. (0.5%)
6. Support student and resident training during orientation sessions, emphasizing sterile techniques and clinical procedures. Report any violations to the department chair or clinical director for review. (2%)
7. Assist Dental Assistant II in maintaining departmental Safety Data Sheets (SDS). (1%)
8. Perform other duties as assigned. (2%)
9. Conduct weekly checks of safety equipment (e.g., eyewash stations) and maintain corresponding quality logs. (1%)

Summary:
This position supports the Endodontics Department by ensuring efficient clinical operations, maintaining a safe and sterile environment, assisting faculty and residents during patient care, and ensuring compliance with all infection control and safety standards.
