Key Account Manager -Sensors / Remote
The Opportunity: Join a Regional Leader in Mechanical Construction Safety!
Are you a safety professional who prefers a job site to a desk? A respected, family-oriented Specialty Mechanical Contractor is seeking a Safety Manager . This isn't an administrative "policy-writing" role—it’s a visible, high-impact leadership position where you will spend 70% of your time in the field identifying hazards, mentoring crews, and "shaking hands" across multi-million dollar HVAC systems, chillers, process piping, and Design-Build MEP projects in Healthcare, Education, Industrial, and Municipal sectors.
- Field-Focused Leadership: You will spend the majority of your week visiting major job sites across the region (Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnati, N. Kentucky, and Indiana).
- Regional Offices: You can utilize offices in Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus for reporting—no need to drive to Dayton every day.
- Safety Program Ownership: You are the primary advisor to the executive team, leader of the Safety Committee, and the face of safety for 150 field employees.
- Mentorship & Influence: Use your "field-first" personality to correct behaviors in real-time. You aren't just a "safety cop"—you are a respected mentor.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Site Inspections & Audits: Conduct walk-throughs to identify risk hazards, ensure compliance with OSHA standards, or stop unsafe work as needed
- Incident Investigation: Lead root-cause analysis for any incidents, corrective actions, records documentation, and collaborate with HR on Transitional Work (Return-to-Work) programs.
- Training & Development: Deliver engaging hands-on safety training and manage the Hazard Communication Program.
- Equipment Oversight: Recommend and order PPE, safety gear, and ensure tools/machinery meet safety specifications to maintain readiness at job sites
- External Liaison: Participate in trade group events, and act as the point of contact for OSHA, fire departments, and emergency response teams.
What You Bring to the Team
- · Safety Experience: 7+ years of progressive safety experience (Coordinator, Lead, Manager) in commercial construction (HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, electrical, drywall, masonry, or related trades).
- Demonstrated Leadership: You’ve held a leadership role for 3+ years (Foreman, Leader, Manager, Supervisor)
- Strong Communication Skills : Able to build trust, enforce standards, and engage with field crews constructively
- Certifications Required: OSHA 500 or 501 (Outreach Trainer), 510 (Construction) or OSHA 511 (General Industry) 500-series preferred; CHST or CSP is ideal but not required
- Travel: Must be comfortable driving regionally across multiple job sites weekly (no overnight travel)
- Stable Career History: Priority given to candidates with demonstrated success in long-term roles, (company has high employee retention) and seeks a stable work history that reflects a deep commitment to previous teams and projects
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $90,000 – $105,000
- Performance Bonus: 5% – 8% annual bonus based on company profit and personal milestones
- Tools for Success: Company Truck, Gas Card, Laptop, and Remote Access
- Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and retirement packages
- Relocation: Consideration for candidates in neighboring states (OH, IN, KY)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Apply today to join a company where your leadership, hands-on approach, and commitment to safety will make a measurable difference every day—protecting people, strengthening culture, and shaping the future of jobsite safety across the region.
