Material Handler (Overhead Crane Op/forklift)

1st shift 7am to 3:30pm Mon-Friday
Job Description
The Machine Operator sets up and operates production machinery to move chips for oil recycling, performs basic troubleshooting, and ensures consistent product quality. This role uses a variety of tools and equipment, including an overhead crane and gauges, while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Responsibilities
- Use an overhead crane to move large items as needed, following all safety procedures.
- Conduct quality checks using various gauges to ensure products meet specifications.
- Refill machines with oil and monitor fluid levels to support continuous production.
- Read and use a tape measure accurately to verify dimensions and product specifications.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines at all times.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate issues or improvements to support overall production goals.
Essential Skills
- Ability to perform minor troubleshooting on machines and equipment.
- Experience using an overhead crane or willingness to learn safe crane operation.
- Ability to perform quality checks using gauges and basic measuring tools.
- Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure accurately.
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools in a production environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1–2 years of previous manufacturing or related experience preferred.
- Previous machine operating experience preferred.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hudson, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
