Emergency Veterinary Assistant

Care Center located in Cincinnati, OH is searching for a Veterinary Assistant to join our outstanding Emergency team on overnights!If you’re passionate about veterinary medicine, eager to learn, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to meet you.

Schedule: Full-Time | Third Shift -rotating schedule, one weekend shift per week

Pay Range: Competitive hourly rate: $20-28/hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities of this position:
The Veterinary Technician Assistant supports the Veterinarians and Technicians in ensuring quality veterinary care for all patients, advocates for pets, provides client education to pet owners, and ensures a safe and efficient hospital environment.

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, procedures, and treatments

• Provide pet owners with clear home-care instructions and updates on hospitalized pets

• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless care

• Ensure clean, safe, and efficient hospital operations

• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments

Essential Skills

• Patient restraint skills including, but not limited to: behavioral assessment, safe handling of fractious patients
• Able to maintain focus and work in a fast-paced work environment
• Adept at problem solving
• Basic computer skills
• Effective communication and organizational skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma, GED, or higher education
• One year clinical experience
• Must be able to lift forty (40) pounds unassisted
