Finance Manager

Position Summary
The Finance Manager will provide financial analysis and business strategy support to the Operations group - Manufacturing and Supply Chain administrative departments. As a finance partner, you will create and deliver routine and ad hoc financial reporting, forecasting, and operational scorecards. You will also assist with the quarterly and year end closing processes as well as being responsible for accounting governance in line with company policy and SOX guidelines. You will own the reporting for total company inventory and also be accountable for creating annual operating plans and Capital budgets for the Operations team. The overall focus will be on North American manufacturing support departments including shipping and warehousing.
*This position is located in Mentor, Ohio with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.
What You'll do as a Finance Manager
- Partner with the Operation team and Group Controller to influence and align projects and strategy with STERIS’s financial interests
- Coordinate and assist with the annual Budget Planning and Forecasting process
- Primary contact for working with the Oracle team on implementing new acquisitions onto Oracle from a manufacturing perspective
- Prepare and review inventory data for acquisitions as needed
- Partner with "key Customers" to identify and explore alternative methods to improve profitability
- Develop analysis to evaluate effectiveness of freight costs – both inbound and outbound
- Identify opportunities to enhance financial performance
- Independently review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual costs and operating expenses
- Create and maintain monthly financial and operational reports
- Create business unit scorecards and related executive presentations/monthly reports
- Oversee the consolidation of financial forecasts, plan and actuals (focus on N.A. Manufacturing support departments and shipping and warehousing)
- Coordinates and report global inventory on a monthly basis as well as expenses for N.A. manufacturing support departments and shipping and warehousing
- Perform analytical activity including excess and obsolete reserves and financial statement variance analysis
- Manage complex key monthly and quarterly closing duties as required including material spend and analyses of changes in inventory levels
- Assist in coordinating audit requirements for internal and external auditors
- Identify opportunities to improve internal controls, process flows, communication, and effectiveness of the department
- Administer direct supervisory responsibilities for personnel (staff and seniors) including selection, hiring, training, performance evaluations, promotional recommendations and work schedules
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year end financial close processes in accordance with Corporate guidelines and policies
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly, end of the year SOX reporting, data gathering and consolidation
- Ensure that revenue is properly recognized on all orders in accordance with the Company’s revenue recognition policy and within Generally Accepted Accounting Practices
- Prepare, review and provide support for journal entries and accruals in the general ledger system
- Participate in standard costing process
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
- Bachelors Degree
- 7+ years accounting experience
- 5+ years of financial analysis experience
- 2+ years of experience in developing metrics
- Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
Preferred:
- Masters Degree
- Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Operations accounting knowledge
- Experience directly managing finance professionals
- Experience with costing standards
- Project Management experience
- Oracle experience
Other:
- Strong resolution and problem solving skills
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen
- Ability to be a self-starter; excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Pay range for this opportunity is $90,737.50 - $117,425.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
