Sortation Specialist
Department: Operations
Reports To: Warehouse Operations Manager
Location: Delaware, OH
Position Summary
The Quality Sortation Specialist is responsible for inspecting, evaluating, and sorting apparel according to detailed company quality specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to accurately document quality levels using internal computer systems while physically sorting garments into designated locations. This position is expected to maintain established productivity standards (units/hour) while meeting all quality requirements. The ideal candidate is quality-driven, consistent in decision-making, and comfortable working with evolving criteria and software tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect apparel items and assess condition against company-defined quality standards
- Assign accurate quality levels within the company’s computer system
- Physically sort garments into correct bins or locations based on assigned quality levels
- Follow detailed quality guidelines and adapt to updated standards or processes
- Identify defects, inconsistencies, or unclear conditions and escalate when necessary
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient sorting workspace
- Participate in additional projects that may involve alternate sorting criteria or inspection requirements
- Occasionally participate in feedback sessions to help improve processes
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and operational procedures
- Other tasks as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to make consistent quality judgments
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software systems
- Ability to accurately input data and navigate internal tools, computer literacy is a must
- Ability to follow detailed written standards and procedures
- Strong organizational skills and reliability
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and productivity
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and quality criteria
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in quality control, apparel inspection, or warehouse operations
- Experience working with inventory management or quality tracking systems
- Demonstrated success in roles requiring accuracy, consistency, and accountability
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift, move, and handle garments and bins within safety guidelines
- Repetitive hand and arm movements during inspection and sorting tasks
