Senoir Sourcing Specialist
Senior Sourcing Specialist Location: Cleveland, OH
PSS Innovations designs, manufactures, markets, and sells safety devices for roadway and pedestrian work zone applications. The Senior Sourcing Specialist is responsible for creating and managing a cost-effective supply chain, including sourcing, purchasing, inventory control, and freight coordination. This position reports to the Operations Manager and provides strategic leadership in procurement and inventory management to support production needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administration : Has a thorough understanding of PSS company's customers, materials, supplies, facilities, equipment, service, inventory requirements, and procurement and works effectively with vendors to meet the company's needs most efficiently and economically.
- Strategy : Provides strategic leadership in establishing the company's sourcing, purchasing, and inventory objectives, strategies, policies and procedures to set the future direction of the function.
- Sourcing : Prioritizes vendor selection based on vendor performance. Identifies and establishes new primary and secondary supplier sources capable of satisfying production, operational, and cost requirements, when necessary, with Engineering and Quality Control's qualification assistance as required.
- ERP : Leads the effort to maintain and maximize the effectiveness of PSS' inventory management system, Oracle Netsuite.
- Relationships : Develops and maintains effective working relationships with vendors to help them gain an understanding of our business, organization, and needs. Develops effective relationships with appropriate internal company resources to be able to effectively serve their needs.
- Negotiation : Negotiates the best possible price, quality and service guarantees with vendors to meet the company's requirements following established policies and procedures and establishes payment terms. Negotiates blanket purchase orders, when appropriate, and monitors costs.
- Purchasing : Manages and procures the materials, supplies, equipment, and services needed to maintain proper inventory levels. Generates purchase orders and inputs them into the system. Tracks the status of orders, verifies accuracy of goods and services received, approves payments to vendors, communicates with internal company resources and the vendor regarding the need for any changes, and effectively serves as a liaison to develop solutions to any procurement issues.
- Freight: Selects and schedules freight carriers to assure timely shipment from vendors and to customers, balancing cost, speed, and service, expediting orders, as necessary.
- Compliance: Serves on a team to ensure purchasing and production procedures are followed to comply with external body certifications, when applicable, such as ASQUER and/or ISO9001.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree required; bachelor's preferred.
- Minimum five years of supply chain experience.
- CSCP certification (APICS) preferred.
- Strong ERP system knowledge (Oracle NetSuite, SAP, Acumatica, Sage).
- Experience developing sourcing strategies.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Detail-oriented with effective time management skills.
- High energy and integrity, with a customer-focused approach.
This role is on-site, and employment is contingent upon passing a background check and drug screening.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
