Department:Wexner Center for Arts | Facilities Rentals-JM

The Wexner Center for the Arts is The Ohio State University's multidisciplinary laboratory for contemporary art and culture. Through exhibitions, performances, screenings, educational programs, artist residencies, and publications the Wex serves as a vital forum where artists test ideas and where diverse audiences engage the art and issues of our time. In its programs, the Wex balances a commitment to experimentation with a critical appreciation of the past. Our work affirms the university's pursuit of civic participation, freedom of expression, and robust dialogue.

Event Services Associate, CASE staff are crucial in creating remarkable experiences for our guests. Specific duties of the Event Services Associate, CASE staff will vary based on the event or program, but may include security screening, ticket scanning, ushering guests to seats, answering questions, providing directions, and assisting with accessibility accommodations and other requests, creating remarkable experiences for our guests!

Responsibilities Include

  • 50%: Greeting guests as they enter the Mershon Auditorium with a positive and welcoming attitude. Answering questions and advise guests of their options at events. Scan or collect and verify authenticity of tickets on day of program.
  • 25%: Remain in position in lobby areas at the beginning, intermission, and end of events. Directing patrons to correct seating areas and assisting with any late seating needs/accommodations. Support accessibility requests made by patrons. Staff coat check.
  • 15%: Assist Program Supervisor and Events Coordinator as needed and/or as directed.
  • 10%: Assessing and/or responding to any emergencies and report to Program Supervisor and/or Events Coordinator immediately.


General Requirements : Associates must be 18 years of age or older; able to remain in a designate position which may include standing for several hours; able to communicate clearly and appear approachable; work with a diverse group of people and remain open to the needs of all visitors; possibly work outdoors; and follow written and verbal instructions.

Additional Information

This is an intermittent position exclusively for Mershon Auditorium at the Wexner Center for the Arts.
