Reliability Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing

We are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our growing chemical manufacturing facility. This critical role focuses on enhancing plant reliability, reducing equipment downtime, and driving continuous improvement in maintenance performance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in predictive maintenance, mechanical integrity, and asset reliability programs to support our operational excellence goals in a dynamic chemical processing environment .

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) initiatives and implement asset reliability programs across the facility
  • Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) , Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) , and Weibull analysis to identify and eliminate equipment failure patterns
  • Develop and optimize predictive maintenance strategies utilizing vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and condition-based monitoring
  • Manage mechanical integrity programs in compliance with OSHA PSM requirements and regulatory standards
  • Administer and optimize SAP PM or Maximo CMMS systems for work order management and reliability reporting
  • Design and implement preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment availability and performance
  • Support turnaround planning , outage execution, and equipment commissioning activities
  • Drive equipment downtime reduction initiatives for rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, and motors
  • Provide reliability engineering input for capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new installations
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to optimize asset performance across fixed and rotating equipment
  • Analyze equipment performance data and generate reliability metrics to support continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3-7 years of experience as a Reliability Engineer or Mechanical Engineer in chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, refining, or heavy process manufacturing environments
  • Proven experience with rotating equipment reliability including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, reactors, and piping systems
  • Strong understanding of mechanical integrity requirements and asset reliability best practices in chemical processing facilities
  • Hands-on experience with SAP PM, Maximo, or equivalent CMMS platforms
  • Working knowledge of OSHA PSM regulations and applicable industry safety standards
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasonics
  • Experience conducting reliability studies including FMEA, RCFA, and failure analytics
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing , 5S, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
