Facilities Director
The Family Center Facilities Director is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, safety and cleanliness of the Family Center facility and grounds. Manage daily operations, coordinate maintenance, ensure compliance with regulations, and handle budgeting and resources. Responsible for scheduling and daily supervision of maintenance personnel, ensuring completion of all assigned tasks.
Schedule: Monday-Friday (availability for nights and weekends as needed for emergencies).
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee maintenance at the Family Center, including preventative maintenance, cleaning and necessary repairs, to include assessing the condition of electrical, HVAC, plumbing and other essential facility equipment. Responsible for completing all administrative paperwork associated with these tasks, including check requests, vendor payments and licensing paperwork.
- Maintain a clean and neat facility and grounds by facilitating the efficient and effective operation of the shelter on a day-to-day basis by addressing cleaning and maintenance concerns in a timely manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience managing and evaluating staff, providing guidance and training in mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliance repair. Complete PAF’s and other required paperwork related to staff positions.
- Recommend service delivery and safety policies and protocols as they relate to building use and ensure that operations conform.
- Ensure facilities comply with health, safety, and licensing standards.
- Manage facility service contracts and maintain productive relationships with the Family Center and YWCA's building/system supply vendors.
- Supervise maintenance staff and provide guidance and training in mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliance repair.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and monitoring the departmental budget.
- Ensure smooth execution of plans, hiring, performance, and alignment with YWCA mission and values, and recommend training.
Performance Expectations:
- Recommend repairs and replacements as necessary to ensure uninterrupted functioning of YWCA facilities. Ensuring smooth, effective execution of plans
- Schedule and oversees safety drills and emergency procedures training.
- Provide ample, direct, and motivating supervision for maintenance staff. Determine recommendations for staff training and development as needed.
- Prepares negotiation recommendations for facility and system contracts and agreements.
- Covers emergency call for the building and systems
Qualifications:
Education :
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Certifications such as CFM, FMP, OSHA, EPA 608, or CPO strongly preferred.
Experience :
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in commercial facilities maintenance and operations, including planning, construction, and systems management.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience with responsibility for staff leadership, budgeting, and vendor management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage operating and capital budgets and oversee vendor contracts.
- Skilled in interpreting blueprints for technical documents.
- Proficient with CMMS and facility management systems.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, vendors and executive leadership.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience in emergency preparedness, risk management, and operational continuity.
- Skilled in using and maintaining tools and equipment safely.
- Capable of meeting deadlines, organizing work, and working independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience managing and evaluating personnel.
Required Trainings:
- One Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training.
- Employee Health and Safety Learning Program(ADP).
- 10 hours OSHA training.
