Rail Superintendent

The Rail Superintendent oversees the safe, efficient, and compliant movement and loading of railcar and truck traffic at the Lima Complex. This role coordinates with operations, contractors, rail services, and customers to ensure timely shipments, regulatory compliance, training oversight, and accurate approval of bills of lading. The position serves as the subject matter expert for rail operations, truck logistics, and loading racks and may provide coverage for related operational roles as needed.
What you'll do:
- Oversee and monitor the performance of contractors and operations employees supporting rail and truck operations.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and DOT-compliant billing for all truck shipments leaving the refinery.
- Coordinate daily railcar switching needs with refinery operations and adjacent industries, including preparation and distribution of daily switch lists.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate customer and carrier shipments.
- Partner with the Commercial (Planning) team to align shipment schedules with process unit rate plans.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly billing reports and supporting documentation for internal businesses and external railroads.
- Adhere to all safety policies, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and actively participating in safety meetings.
Who you are:
- Legally authorized to work in the US
- High School Diploma
- Department of Transportation (DOT) HAZCOM certification
- 8+ years of rail and/or truck traffic experience, and refinery experience
