What your evening looks like as a Precision Tool & Die Machinist

At 3:30 p.m., you clock in at our Cleveland facility (3960 S Marginal Rd, Cleveland, OH 44114). You review design blueprints, lay out a build plan, and begin the mechanical construction of complex molds and dies—often leading several builds in parallel. You set up and run Bridgeport mills, surface grinders, saws, and EDM equipment, holding exceptionally tight tolerances while inspecting your own work throughout.

As parts progress, you partner closely with Engineering and Programming to fine-tune processes, resolve issues, and keep multiple projects on track. You bring your own toolbox, follow Corporate EHS, Quality, and HR standards, and wear the appropriate PPE from first cut to final inspection. The shift runs through 12:00 a.m., Monday–Friday.

What you will do

• Lead the construction of multiple molds and dies at the same time.
• Interpret design blueprints to develop mold/die build plans.
• Execute precision operations within very close tolerances.
• Operate Bridgeport mills, grinders, saws, and EDM equipment.
• Inspect your own work to verify conformance.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Programming throughout manufacturing.
• Comply with Corporate EHS, Quality, and HR rules and standards; wear required PPE.

Qualifications

Basic

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of toolmaking/mold making experience.

Preferred

• Ability to lift 40 pounds.
• State-issued Journeymen’s papers in Tool & Die and/or Mold Making, or 8+ years of job shop experience.
• Hands-on background building turbine/airfoil molds and dies (strongly preferred).
• Clear, effective communication and teamwork in a die-making environment.
• Proficiency in basic math and trigonometry.
• Thorough knowledge of tooling processes.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a cell team.

Safety

While not exposed to hazardous materials, this role requires wearing PPE. Following all basic safety precautions reduces the risk of potential injury.
